RAMSI had a number of key priority areas of work that are the current focus of the Mission. These include:

  • Strengthening the RSIPF through further capacity development work
  • Reintroducing firearms into the RSIPF
  • Preventing family violence

Prior to the ‘transition’ in mid-2013, RAMSI was a much larger mission. Over the life of the mission, RAMSI has delivered a number of development programs, provided frontline policing and had a military component. These parts of RAMSI have been integral to the Mission’s success in restoring law and order, rebuilding national institutions, stabilising the economy and improving service delivery.
