Sixteen new houses have been officially handed over to the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), continuing the rapid expansion of police housing across Solomon Islands.
The new houses, which are located at Henderson near Honiara, are set to provide an important boost to the operational and staffing capabilities of the RSIPF.
Solomon Islands Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services, Clay Forau officially opened the new houses.
The new houses will provide good quality, secure accommodation for RSIPF officers and their immediate families in the Solomons capital Honiara, and will play an important role in ensuring the RSIPF can meet policing needs across the country.
The new houses are part of a major infrastructure project funded, through RAMSI, by the Australian and New Zealand Governments. The project is expected to see a total of 84 houses built for RSIPF officers across Solomon Islands.
