Military participation in RAMSI

The primary role of RAMSI’s military contingent, known as Combined Task Force 635, was to provide support and assistance to RAMSI’s Participating Police Force as it worked to strengthen the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.

RAMSI’s military contingent consisted of soldiers from four nations – Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Tonga.

The Combined Task Force was fully withdrawn on 30 September 2013 as part of RAMSI’s ‘transition’.
