To say goodbye and tagio tumas to the people of Solomon Islands for their support over the last 14 years, the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands (RAMSI) will donate sporting equipment to 10 youth sporting groups across the nation.
This may include groups that involve girls, youths with disabilities or under-privileged youth.
Successful applicants will receive a $3000 or $5,000 voucher for use at a sports store in Honiara.
Applications should include: the name and telephone contact details of the applicant and a community leader that supports the application, plus information about how the sports equipment would be used and who would use the equipment.
Please send your expression of interest to RAMSI via: PO Box 1931, Honiara; emailing firstname.lastname@example.org; or calling 36249.
Applications must be received by midday on Monday 1 May 2017.
The voucher can only be used to purchase sports equipment and pay for shipping to provincial locations. The voucher will be valid for a maximum of six months.
Applications will be assessed by a panel of three people. Successful groups will be notified and announced in the Island Star newspaper on 10 May 2017. To receive the voucher, the person in charge of the group must agree to use the sports equipment for a community purpose and to not benefit financially or personally from the equipment.
