Local products win the day

RAMSI special Coordinator James Batley today congratulated the organizers of Techmart 2006 in Honiara and the local businesses taking part in it.

Inspecting the displays at the trade fair organised by the Small and Medium Enterprises Council of Solomon Islands, Mr Batley said he was struck by the variety of local products from around the country, and also by the enthusiasm of the people who were demonstrating and explaining the products on display.

“I was impressed with the quality of the local products and the way they were being packaged and marketed,” Mr Batley said.

“I encourage Honiara residents to come and see what is being produced by Solomon Islanders in small and medium business.”

Mr Batley said Techmart 2006 should demonstrate to Solomon Islanders that they had many resources at their disposal including creative and enterprising people who are prepared to work hard in local business.
